About the Job:
The Labor Performance Manager is responsible for overseeing employee scheduling and workforce performance across all facilities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. This role ensures staffing aligns with census fluctuations, seasonality, regulatory compliance, and financial targets. The Labor Performance Manager actively monitors and manages key labor indicators, including paid time off (PTO), overtime, agency usage, and premium labor—and collaborates with facility and divisional leadership to drive workforce efficiency and cost control. This position reports to the CFO of Operations and leverages data tools such as Power BI and electronic scheduling system to provide actionable insights.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee scheduling workflows that support real-time staffing adjustments based on census, acuity, and seasonal variation.
- Ensure compliance with staffing regulations and company labor standards.
- Track, analyze, and manage workforce indicators including: Paid Time Off (PTO) balances and trends; Overtime and double-time hours; Agency and contract labor utilization; Premium shift differentials and incentive pay
- Use Power BI and other platforms to deliver reports and dashboards that highlight trends, outliers, and labor cost impacts.
- Use electronic scheduling system to determine staffing compliance and overtime utilization.
- Collaborate closely with divisional leaders, HR, and facility leadership to resolve coverage issues and optimize staff deployment.
- Develop and enforce action plans with accountable owners to address scheduling inefficiencies or excessive premium labor use.
- Contribute to monthly forecasting, labor planning, and annual budgeting efforts.
- Promote accountability in schedule adherence, timekeeping accuracy, and labor cost containment.
- Serve as a key operations partner in aligning workforce performance with broader organizational objectives.
Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include Business, Healthcare Administration, or HR.
- Three or more years of experience in workforce management, healthcare operations, or scheduling oversight.
- Proven ability to analyze and manage labor metrics such as PTO, overtime, and agency use.
- Proficiency with Power BI or comparable data tools.
- Deep understanding of staffing compliance and productivity strategies in healthcare.
- Strong communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote setting with a high level of accountability.
- Experience in behavioral health, acute care, or multi-site healthcare operations preferred
- Familiarity with workforce management systems such as Workday, Kronos, Smartlinx, UKG, or ScheduleAnywhere preferred.
- Prior involvement in labor budgeting or workforce performance improvement initiatives preferred.
