Essential Duties

1. Lead strategic planning for university-wide information technology. 2. Oversee high impact, cross functional technology operations that are likely to influence all (or a majority) university departments. 3. Direct expansive multidisciplinary teams, including multiple departmental heads and specialized units. 4. Play a central role in establishing university-wide technology policies and standards and/or act as a representative of the university in national and international technology forums. 5. Engage with senior university leadership to align technology strategy with overall university goals. 6. Develop and cultivate strategic, high-value partnerships with industry leaders and technology providers.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 10 or more years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Eight years of experience at the managerial level.

Position Focus:

Oversee a high-performing OPMO organization which provides expertise in portfolio management, program management, process improvement, and organizational change management. Ensure strategic focus by prioritizing a realistic number of initiatives aligned to the Operations Strategic Plan, aligning resources and capacity to deliver on key priorities , and ensuring leaders are aligned to strategic priorities and are informed by data-driven, measurable outcomes. Foster delivery excellence by establishing and sharing standard tools, methodologies, and training which strengthen project delivery across Operations, and providing structures for governance, decision-making, and risk mitigation. Enable cross-functional collaboration by leveraging processes which establish connective tissue across Operations. promoting a “One Yale” culture aimed at breaking down silos and leveraging diverse stakeholder perspectives, and advancing people-first change management and communications.
