About the Role

As a Finishing Operator at Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, located in Rochelle, IL, you will play a key role in operating production equipment, handling materials, and ensuring the production process runs smoothly. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is mechanically inclined, and is committed to following safety protocols to produce quality products efficiently.

Shift: 3rd

Pay: $25 Base + Incentive Hourly

What You’ll Do

• Operates hand and power equipment – Ensures machinery is functioning properly to produce products with accuracy and efficiency.
• Runs machinery and handles materials – Coordinates equipment setup and material handling to maintain smooth production operations.
• Ensures proper safety procedures are followed – Complies with safety standards to maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment.
• Operates mobile and packing equipment – Manages packing and banding processes to prepare finished products for shipment.
• Completes other duties as assigned by management – Assists in various operational tasks to support the production process.

Who You Are

• 1+ years of industrial experience – Preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
• High School Diploma/GED required – A basic education credential is essential.
• Proven mechanical aptitude – Able to troubleshoot and operate machinery effectively.
• Attention to detail and dependability – Strong commitment to accuracy and reliability in completing tasks.
• Ability to work shift work – Flexible in working various shifts as needed to meet production schedules.
• Physical requirements – Capable of lifting up to 60lbs and working in a plant environment for extended periods.
• Legally authorized to work in the US – All candidates must meet this requirement.
• Must be able to pass a drug/physical/background check – Ensures all candidates meet the health and safety standards for this role.

Physical Abilities

• Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull as part of regular tasks.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for several hours at a time.
• Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environment, with frequent use of limbs and manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and stand for 10-12 hours during the shift.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $25 Base + Incentive Hourly (based on experience, education, and interview performance)
