About the Transaction Processing Associate II role

This position supports the Treasury Management Operations Division in the Wholesale Lockbox Department. Wholesale Lockbox processes payments from corporate businesses according to detailed customer specifications. Responsibilities include repetitive tasks: interpretation of client specific instructions, data input, proofreading, and assembling. This is a production-oriented position, which includes adherence to quality and production standards.

Provides administrative support to business operations by performing remittance processing or similar activities.

Qualifications:

  • H.S Diploma or GED
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have 1-3 years of Lockbox experience, check processing, or as a bank teller
  • Must pass criminal background check and drug screen
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must have excellent communications skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must have experience working under strict deadlines in a production-oriented environment
  • Must have ability to stay until work is completed

Job Duties:

  • Prepares and reconciles client deposits according to client instructions
  • Accurately pre-process checks according to customer specifications and departmental procedures.
  • Opens and removes all contents of the envelope. Review customer instructions to determine method of processing.
  • Follow the 5-step process to negotiate each check by verifying the payee, the written dollar amount, the numeric dollar amount, the MICR line, and restrictive notations.
  • Stamp the check with the processor’s ID and validates payee.
  • Number the checks and the backup documents.
  • Also will be responsible for processing more complex accounts as needed.
  • Accurately attach check images to back up documentation according to customer specifications. Prepare completed batches for mail out.

  • Employees sit at a desk for long periods of time and may be required to stand and walk at times.
  • The position requires typing on a computer keyboard and using a mouse.
  • The position requires ability to use adding machine to balance invoices
  • Employees view and read information on a computer screen and on paper.
  • Equipment used in this position includes, computer, telephone, and fax machine, document scanner.
  • There is some lifting or moving of items or objects in this position.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to work under strict deadlines within a production-oriented environment.
  • Attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks timely and accurately.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required

Occasional Duties:

Defined as duties that require less emphasis than the essential/primary duties. This includes miscellaneous duties that occur at irregular intervals. Some of these duties could be eliminated without changing the nature and purpose.

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. The estimated salary range for this role is $31,200 - $39,000.
