DTSC’s Office of Communications is looking for an Information Officer I to join our team of professionals. Our office specializes in broadcast journalism, graphic design, video production, communications, and web design. We value collaboration, creativity, and respect. As an Information Officer I (Specialist) you will have the opportunity to:

  • Conduct editorial review of contracted scientific reports, printed publications, annual reports, white papers, articles, and webpages to ensure information is presented accurately, clearly, and with correct grammar
  • Perform research to determine correct documentation, inaccuracies in grammar, correspondence development, layout, and journalistic style
  • Ensure finished products conform to DTSC's publication guidelines and are written in plain language
  • Develop strategic marketing and communication plans and key messages to communicate events and issues of enterprise-wide importance
  • Support DTSC internal and executive communications and special projects
  • Coordinate with program-area staff throughout the organization to ensure the communication needs of our internal customers are being met

Desirable Qualifications We Look For:

  • Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) in dealing with the public and/or other employees
  • Experience in persuasive writing, editing, social media content
  • Experience developing and executing communications strategies
  • Experience in developing and planning newsletters, web content, and social media
  • Completes assignments in a timely and efficient manner; excellent writing, speaking, research and editing skills
  • Ability to think critically and to act independently as well as part of a team
  • Familiar with SharePoint and Constant Contact
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet varied and tight deadlines
