What will you do?

A day in the life of an associate color designer at The North Face looks a little like this.

  • You support the design team with seasonal trend and market research, concept ideation and color design application
  • You execute and create color palette work, mood boards, color decks and tools with direction from designers and the design manager, with a defined scope.
  • You focus on learning foundational skills within design process, systems, DNA, brand culture + build cross functional collaboration.
  • You have a basic understanding of brand aesthetic, consumer color trends, and color concepts
  • You have a passion for the details, learning and contribute to team reviews, workshops and events.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 1-3 years of experience and professional achievements within the design and product creation field.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • Min 1-3 years of experience within the color, trend and product design fields (within apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories)
  • Experience doing trend research across performance and/or lifestyle products
  • Core understanding of color trends across performance and/or lifestyle products
  • Experience applying a color palette onto CADS and/or Croquis
  • Concept ideation, color theory & storytelling
  • Understanding of the design process and working to key milestones and deadlines
  • Experience working in Adobe suite, Figma, Microsoft
  • attention to detail
  • Cross functional and team collaboration
  • Flexibility and change mindset are key
  • A passion for Snow, Climb and Trail and lifestyle product

Hiring Range:

$60,480.00 USD - $75,600.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
