Job Summary:

The Parts Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all parts and components meet the quality standards and specifications set by JBT. This role involves inspecting incoming parts, conducting tests, and documenting findings to ensure compliance with industry standards and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection and Testing:
    • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of parts and components using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM Faro arm ).
    • Perform tests to verify material properties and compliance with specifications.
    • Ensure that parts meet all quality standards and specifications.
  • Documentation:
    • Record inspection results accurately and maintain detailed inspection logs and reports.
    • Document any defects or non-conformances and communicate findings to relevant departments.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to develop and implement inspection procedures.
    • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes for defective parts.
    • Assist in the development and improvement of quality control processes.
  • Compliance and Standards:
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and safety regulations.
    • Stay informed about updates in industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in quality control or inspection in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance processes and standards.
  • Able to understand engineering drawings, tolerance callouts, specification requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during inspections.
  • Good vision and manual dexterity for handling small parts and tools.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery.
  • May require occasional overtime or shift work depending on production demands.

The estimated annual salary range for this role is $17.00 per hour - $22.00 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
