Business Unit Controller - Mobility Real Estate

As the largest passenger Rolling Stock manufacturer in the United States, we are expanding our footprint by building an advanced manufacturing and rail services facility on a 200-acre site in the proclaimed "Barbecue Capital of the World". Building on some of the newest technologies in our Sacramento Rolling Stock and Rail Customer Services factories, the new facility will include robotic welding, 3D printing, Virtual Reality weld training, and software tools to enhance our manufacturing process. We seek to hire a Business Unit Controller to support our Real Estate team by overseeing all cost controlling for the newly-constructed manufacturing facility and supporting the team in all finance-related responsibilities (forecast preparation, performance variance analysis, and bridge reporting). You will also support the regional implementation of globally-defined standards and processes to ensure a comprehensive, consistent worldwide approach for the business.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Coordinate monthly forecast consolidation processes
  • Serving as first level contact for Forecast, Actuals and Budget financial queries (management, HQ, support functions).
  • Controlling and reporting of Siemens Real Estate Mobility US figures to SMO US and SRE SMO HQ
  • Drive sophisticated analysis on business performance, providing reports of comparing actuals with forecast, Budget and previous years.
  • Prepare materials for business reviews and budget presentations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, with a focus on automation and digitalization.
  • Work actively on ad hoc reporting and customized analysis, supporting Zone Manager

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in finance, cost controlling, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with ERPs (e.g.: SAP, Intacct) and Planning Tools (e.g.: Hyperion, SAC, Anaplan)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong cooperation with the Property Manager on site, team sharing/ information/ on site.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management and attention to detail.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
