The Director of Pharmacy Solutions works collaboratively with The Network practices to plan and implement initiatives that increase efficiency of the pharmacy department, improve admixture safety, optimize financial outcomes and meet value based care goals.

The Director of Pharmacy Solutions provides direct support to assigned practices through coaching and strategic planning. In addition, the Director of Pharmacy Solutions takes on a leadership role in network-wide projects and committees. A successful candidate will have expertise in community oncology combined with excellent relationship building, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support for key customers within The Network, with responsibility for managing the customer relationship with pharmacy leaders
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize drug economics, value based care contracts, and quality.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve safety and quality of admixture services, including meeting regulatory and contractual obligations. This includes implementing standardization and best practices when appropriate across The Network practices.
  • Analyze drug economics and clinical trending to identify and support drug strategies
  • Manages projects by prioritizing issues and responding to the business needs of The Network and McKesson.
  • Actively lead and/or participate in key P&T subcommittees involving pharmacy services.

Minimum Requirement

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience. Less years required if has relevant Master’s or Doctorate qualifications.

Education

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Active Pharmacist License required
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Board Certified in Oncology (BCOP) preferred

Critical Skills

  • 8+ years specific healthcare and/or systems-related experience including 5+ years of management in oncology pharmacy required
  • Strong working knowledge of community oncology practices
  • Extensive management in infusion oncology pharmacy
  • Ability to build professional relationships quickly and collaborate with a diverse set of colleagues
  • Ability to form and articulate persuasive arguments based on analysis
  • Proven experience managing many diverse projects and programs related to oncology pharmacy services that have demonstrated positive results on business outcomes
  • Knowledge of payer, regulatory, compliance and licensure issues at the federal and state level relative to community oncology pharmacy
  • Executive presence and advanced presentation skills

Additional Skills

  • Success managing professional relationships virtually
  • Strong orientation and commitment to external and internal customer service
  • Experience with Tableau and Power BI preferred
  • Experience in retail/specialty pharmacy or medically integrated dispensing a plus
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills in a nuanced environment
  • Experience working in matrix environment

Travel

  • Travel up to 25% required to client sites, business partners and internal meetings

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$133,100 - $221,900
