Interpath launched in Spain in April 2025, so this is a unique opportunity to be part of a new team within an established and successful business. Our Spanish business is lead by a team of highly experienced MDs focused on delivering advisory services across Restructuring, Debt Advisory and Corporate Finance (M&A). Our MDs in Spain collaborate closely with their colleagues across Europe and globally to provide solutions to the complex issues facing business today.

As a Senior Associate in the Restructuring & Debt Advisory team in Barcelona, you will work with experienced colleagues to deliver multi-stakeholder, international and domestic restructuring & advisory engagements. As part of a small team, the successful candidate will build a broad range of skills and experience within advisory.

As part of a team, the successful candidate will;

• Advise clients including Corporates, Investors, Banks, Lenders or any other stakeholders facing distressed situations
• Assess the viability of a client by conducting Independent Business Reviews (IBRs), Liquidity analysis, Market assessment, Capital structure analysis, Options review and Cash flow analysis
• Provide solutions including restructuring proposals & negotiations with stakeholders, contingency planning, Balance Sheet restructuring, Refinancing options and M&A
• Contribute to performance monitoring following business plan implementation
• Mentor and train junior team members to enhance their development and performance
• Develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders through the delivery of value-added client engagements
• Build strong relationships with clients across the Spanish and European Restructuring network, becoming a trusted advisor for Restructuring & Advisory challenges
• Collaborate with other service lines to provide integrated financial solutions for client issues
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practice

Requirements

Education and Experience Required:

• Strong educational background combined with experience at a Big 4, a boutique advisory or a Private Equity firm across Restructuring, Transactions Advisory or Debt Advisory
• Experience of conducting Independent Business reviews or Financial due diligence is advantageous
• Well-developed analytical and quantitative skills, with experience in financial modelling and valuation techniques
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial databases is a plus
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines & strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent business level English and Spanish is essential. Other European languages are welcome.
