ASRC Federal System Solutions supports the Federal Aviation Administration National Airspace System Engineering Support Services FAA NAS ESS contract. Join our growing team as an Engineering Technician in support of the Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR).
Responsibilities:
- Develop/Review technical materials such as system support modification documents, technical instruction books, technical directives, and specifications.
- Perform varying assignments associated with analyzing, installing, repairing, fabricating, or trouble-shooting electrical / mechanical systems.
- Ensure that updated changes are configuration-managed electronically.
- Applies broad experience and advanced technical knowledge of assigned disciplines and specialties.
- Understands how assigned systems, components, and disciplines are integrated with other systems.
- Plans and organizes work to accomplish organizational objectives.
- Designs and coordinates test set-ups and experiments to prove or disprove the feasibility of preliminary designs.
- May advise equipment users on ways to solve unique operational deficiencies.
- Develop guidelines and technical documentation for use by other technicians.
- May provide on-the-job training to other technicians in the field.
- Provides facility maintenance of test labs, and lab equipment.
Requirements:
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required. All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years.
On-site presence will be as required by the FAA.
- Familiarity with HW system design, schematics, and interconnects
- Must have the ability to provide technical support both in person and remotely.
- Experience authoring technical documentation and providing technical support.
- The ability to perform installation and maintenance activities from written documentation is required.
- Must have some practical knowledge of engineering.
- Must have knowledge of technical documentation.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to pass an FAA background investigation.
- Must be local to the OKC area or willing to relocate. Will need to have the ability to interface with hardware in person.
- Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time.
Education/Experience:
- An Associate’s Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or similar science/technology curriculum is required.
- A Certificate of Training in a two-year Electronics Engineering Technology or similar curriculum from a community college, vocational school, military training, or FAA Academy may be substituted in lieu of the associates of science degree, depending on the qualifications, and experience.
- Desired Experience for Engineering Technician.
- Engineering Technician Level 2: minimum of 3 years of experience equivalent to Engineering Technician Level 1
- Proficiency with computer operating systems, software and hardware with proven ability to debug complex systems and to conduct reviews, audits, and testing.
- Working knowledge of UNIX and UNIX-like Operating Systems (AIX, Linux)
