To provide pharmaceutical services to nursing facilities and behavioral healthcare centers residents in a manner that maximizes quality and patient safety as regulated by Tennessee State Law, CMS, DEA and nursing facility guidelines.

Description of Required Duties and Tasks:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Input
- Process and enter new admissions/readmissions
- Manage and enter refill orders
- Route all incoming fax documents to the proper department
- Dispensing pharmacy technician duties as needed
Dispensing
- Assist Pharmacist in mixing, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals
- Pull and prepare orders including cycle fill and control substances
- Prepare night box inventory for weekly delivery
- Produce medication labels/delivery manifest for medication orders
- Prepare medications for delivery and end of day tote closure
- Prepare narcotic medication and maintain narcotic records
- Assist with pre-packing of medications
- Input pharmacy technician duties, as needed
- Provide dispensing assistance under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Process daily workflow to provide timely and efficient medication delivery
- Assist with inventory control
- Actively participate in quarterly physical inventory count
- Communicate information effectively to supervisor and others in a timely matter
- Maintain proficiency with computer systems
- Effectively demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and continually strive to improve quality standards
- Maintain confidentiality of work related information and materials in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Adhere to the principles of the Employee Standards and Code of Conduct and reports any violations
- Knowledgeable and compliant with current company policies and procedures and state and federal regulations
- Attend meetings and in-services as required
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge:
- Work requires knowledge of the pharmacy industry, Medicaid Regulations, CMS and other state/federal regulations
Required Skills:
- Must possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed
- Maintaining an established work schedule

Required Work Experience:
- One (2) to three (3) years of pharmacy technician experience
Required Computer Skills:
- Framework LTC Software System
- Framework ECM Software System
Equipment Used:
- Standard Office Equipment
- Computer
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds
- Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling
- Work is performed in a standard office environment
- Must have reliable transportation
Certification Requirements:
- Active Tennessee Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration required
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
- Must complete continuing education in pharmacy-related topics as required to maintain certification
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Completion of pharmacy technician program preferred

- Report unsafe working conditions and behavior
- Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices
