Job Description:
- Based in Texas, the Electrical Technician will be primarily responsible for executing field services related to Low Voltage (LV) Busway systems and PH Box throughout North America.
- This position requires the technician to conduct a range of on-site services including Insulation Resistance (IR) Testing, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, installation supervision, troubleshooting, and urgent technical support.
- The technician will play a key role in ensuring successful field performance and customer satisfaction by leveraging strong electrical knowledge and technical problem-solving capabilities.
- The ideal candidate will have a commercial journeyman electrician license in the state of Texas, must have hands-on experience in field operations related to power distribution systems and must be comfortable working on active construction sites.
- The role involves frequent domestic travel, including short-notice deployments for emergency support, and may include limited travel across North America.
- Effective communication in English is essential, including the ability to write technical reports and train site personnel or subcontractors on product handling and installation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site field services for LV Busway systems and PH Boxes, including IR Testing, SAT, and system commissioning
- Respond to emergency service calls to diagnose and resolve Busway-related electrical issues in real-time
- Supervise or execute installation activities, ensuring compliance with drawings, technical manuals, and site safety regulations
- Train construction subcontractors and customer representatives on installation and operational procedures
- Conduct site inspections and generate detailed technical service reports
- Serve as the first responder for any post-installation issues, customer complaints, or warranty-related service needs
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Sales, and Project Management teams to ensure alignment of field activities with design and delivery expectations
- Travel frequently within the U.S. and occasionally across North America to project sites (travel readiness required)
- Approximately 50% of the role involves travel to project sites, requiring flexibility and responsiveness to field service needs.
- Ensure all field service activities are carried out in accordance with industry standards, customer requirements, and company policies
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with LV power systems, preferably Busway installations or similar electrical distribution systems
- Proven experience in field testing, electrical troubleshooting, or site supervision
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety codes, testing protocols, and installation standards
- Fluent in English (verbal and written); bilingual capabilities (e.g., Korean, Spanish) are a plus
- Able and willing to travel frequently and work on active construction sites
- Technically proficient and capable of interpreting technical drawings and schematics
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic reporting tools
- Self-motivated, organized, and effective in both independent and team environments
