The Memory Support Director will lead the effort to carry out Elegance Living Memory Support standards by implementing Person Centered, state of the art, holistic memory support practices. This departmental leadership role will be recognized as the memory support expert within the community and will be provided with resources to achieve/maintain this status
Responsibilities:
- Manage and create innovative resident engagement opportunities for the Memory Support neighborhood.
- Plan and create a monthly program calendar and and maintains resident attendance at neighborhood programs to ensure engagement is occurring per resident needs and wishes
- Knowledgeable of compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Knowledgeable of all local, state, and federal rules and regulations as they apply to services delivered in Memory Support.
- Provides oversight to all team members working on the Memory Support neighborhood to ensure that resident quality of life is maximized and provided in a Person Centered, compassionate manner.
- Works collaboratively with Executive Director and other functional leaders to ensure all areas of the neighborhood functioning are in alignment with Elegance Living Memory Support standards.
- Applies holistic, non-medical interventions whenever possible to ensure each resident's emotional wellbeing and positive mental health
- Manages the monthly neighborhood budget and purchases related to resident engagement opportunities for the neighborhood
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications:
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with seniors and those living with Memory Support conditions!
- A genuine desire to advocate for those with a Dementia diagnosis. 2+ years of Management experience with employee oversight and customer relations preferred. 2+ years of experience in a Dementia care setting preferred.
- Complimentary professional experience in recreation or occupational therapy, art or music therapy, hospitality management, teaching, coaching, health & wellness or related fields are welcome.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred in a field related to the position.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and positive community relations skills are essential.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
