Quality Control Manager

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Prepare, present, and coordinate all aspects for acceptance of the Construction Quality Control Plan, including but not limited to:
  • Meeting minute preparation, including edit and review the minutes of the previous meeting.
  • Review and understand the schedule and the status of work and rework
  • Review and understand the status of submittals including but not limited to inputting, updating, and maintaining the submittal register
  • Review and understand the work to be accomplished in the next three weeks and the documentation required
  • Resolve QC and production problems (RFI, etc.)
  • Address items that may require revising the QC Plan
  • Review and understand Accident Prevention Plan (APP)
  • Review and understand environmental requirements and procedures
  • Review and understand Waste Management Plan
  • Review and understand IAQ Management Plan
  • Review and understand Environmental Management Plan
  • Review and understand the status of training completion
  • Maintain the submittal register, Contractor Production Report, Contractor Quality Control Report, Contractor Action Items Report, Preparatory Phase Checklist, Initial Phase Checklist, Quality Specialist Report, Monthly Summary Reports of Tests, Field Test Reports, Rework Items List, and Testing Plan and Log, Meeting Minute and Quality Control Certifications
  • Ensure the as-built drawings required are kept current daily
  • Prepare complete, accurate and timely submittal logs for construction logs for construction projects based on project drawings and specifications
  • Accountable for receiving approved submittals from Architect or Engineer and notify the Project Superintendent of potential schedule impact
  • Assist Project Manager by preparing all necessary back up relating to change requests
  • Distribute contract documents to subcontractors, including drawings, specifications, and general conditions, including any accepted alternates or addendums with documents
  • Distribute final requirement documentation to subcontractors and consultants
  • Schedule all required construction meetings with required personnel, subcontractors, architects, and owners
  • Take accurate and complete meeting minutes and distribute timely
  • Prepare correspondence with Owner, Architect, Engineers, Subcontractors, Suppliers, etc. Examples of referenced correspondence include but are not limited to the following items: Schedule of Values, project schedule, memos, request for information, transmittals, and submittals
  • Document quality and progress of each Subcontractor and Suppliers and update Subcontractors and Suppliers of any changes to the plans, specifications and/or schedule
  • Responsible for timely completion of all required project close-out documents per contract.
  • Perform and document the three phases of control, final inspections, closeouts, and LEEDs

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

Education/Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management and three (3) years of related experience in the type of work being performed on the project (preferred)
  • Technical knowledge of quality control processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel and/or relocate, as both may be required
