Description

Are you an experienced professional with a background in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and a strong record of supervising staff? If so, consider applying for the BH/DID Program Manager position overseeing the Substance Use Disorder Program Licensure Branch. We are looking for a leader with hands-on experience in SUD treatment settings who understands regulatory compliance and can effectively manage a team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supervises and manages branch staff, including assigning surveys, conducting performance evaluations, and approving leave and timekeeping requests.
  • Provides leadership and coordination across teams and agencies to ensure consistent service delivery to regulated providers and the public.
  • Oversees inspections, audits, and survey reviews; ensures procedures align with applicable regulations and statutes.
  • Leads investigations of provider complaints and collaborates with other government agencies as needed; may testify in administrative hearings.
  • Monitors program outcomes and staff workload; prepares reports and delivers presentations to support data-informed decision making.
  • Performs additional duties as needed to support branch operations and interagency collaboration.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Five years of professional experience in the administration or management of institutional activities, BHDID Central Office, community, or agency programs.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, nursing, health administration, or public or business administration will substitute for one year of the required experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Working Conditions

This position typically requires working in an institution or facility with individuals who may have behavioral health conditions, developmental disabilities, etc. or in an office setting within a behavioral health or intellectual disabilities program.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
