Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Assemblers to join our team across multiple shifts. You will start your journey in gasketting and then transition to building, utilizing your skills to contribute to the production of high-quality metal products. Expect a dynamic and fast-paced environment where teamwork and precision are key.

Responsibilities

  • Begin in gasketting and progress to building, with potential advancement in unit building.
  • Gasket sheet metal plates using a tape gun, ensuring stability and precision.
  • Collaborate with a partner to gasket each plate efficiently.
  • Aim to gasket up to 400 plates per shift in a fast-paced department.
  • Assemble sub-components and finished products, requiring basic product and process knowledge.
  • Fit metal products using hand and power tools.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and overhead cranes to build heat exchangers.
  • Lift and fit products weighing 60lbs+.
  • Work with a team member to fulfill daily product orders.
  • Engage in lifting, climbing, standing, walking, and extending arms for prolonged periods.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to interpret assembly diagrams and schematics.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes.
  • Basic mechanical understanding of assembly processes.
  • Capability to lift 50lbs+ (40lbs+ independently).
  • Regular ability to walk, sit, and reach for extended periods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (must be obtained within a certain time upon conversion to permanent status).
  • Company offers a GED program for educational advancement.

Work Environment

Work in a clean, organized, and spacious manufacturing floor with sections clearly labeled for materials and production. First shift operates from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with potential overtime until 4:30 PM. The environment is conducive to productivity and collaboration.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
