This position will support, consult, make recommendations, communicate and train district users on various modules within the Student Information System (SIS), currently Synergy®, primarily Scheduling, Grade Reporting, and Graduation Requirements.

  • Train and support users in various settings (individuals, small groups, large groups) especially in areas of scheduling.
  • Take school schedules from inception to a working model within an SIS.
  • Work with School Support Manager to develop and maintain the SIS training calendar, all scheduling training materials, and the SIS procedural calendar.
  • Perform all necessary set up in the SIS to include school set up, scheduling options, grade reporting, and attendance.
  • Communicates policy/procedure changes from SIS to District users.
  • Review teaching staff credentials to assist schools with licensure compliance.
  • Assists with troubleshooting application failures.
  • Investigates new SIS features and works with School Support Manager to evaluate risk/need along with assisting in testing and development for implementation.
  • Experience designing and implementing all phases of a master schedule for a variety of cycle days and meeting patterns.
  • Extensive knowledge of Traditional, Block and Hybrid schedules.
  • Experience in determining the required FTE needed for the schedule.
  • Experience managing class loads within a schedule.
  • Strong understanding of a variety of modules within the SIS.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects and coordinate the work of others.
  • Experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Google: Meet, Drive, Chat.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexibility, organization, decision-making and problem solving skills.
  • Interpersonal skills with diverse in-person and on the telephone.
  • Knowledge of APS community, computer system, financial and legal requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience training and supporting users in various settings (individuals, small groups, large groups)
  • Seven years’ experience working with information systems data. Preferably in scheduling.
