Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing equipment safely and efficiently during breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, and providing technical assistance for new equipment purchases and production floor modifications. This role requires a commitment to safety and risk assessment in all tasks, and the ability to assemble required documentation for transferring new product designs to production.

Responsibilities

  • Repair equipment safely and urgently during breakdowns.
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to system schedules.
  • Provide technical assistance for new equipment purchases and production floor modifications.
  • Execute and promote safety and risk assessment with all tasks.
  • Assemble documentation to transfer new product designs to production.
  • Perform and troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general repairs.
  • Assist in facility additions and renovations.
  • Be available on-call for production schedule emergencies.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting, Fanuc controls, blueprint and schematic reading.
  • Experience in troubleshooting/programming PLCs and Fanuc controls.
  • Proficiency in equipment troubleshooting.
  • Commitment to safety policies such as LOTO, elevated work, PPE, Hot Work, and general workplace safety including Arc Flash.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred specialized training/schooling in trades or mechanical institution.
  • 10 years' experience with electrical and NEC codes in a manufacturing environment.
  • 10 years' experience with mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Appropriate combination of education and experience may also be acceptable.

Work Environment

This position requires work in both office and plant environments, near moving mechanical parts. The noise level ranges from quiet to moderate. It is a full-time role requiring at least 40 hours per week, with potential for off-shift and weekend work on rare occasions. The schedule is determined by the Maintenance/Facilities Supervisor and may change in the future. Minimal travel is required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $66560.00/yr.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in both an office and plant environment. While in the plant, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate. This is a full-time position requiring at least 40 hours per week, with hours of work and days scheduled determined by the EHS – Facility Manager. Special circumstances such as off shift and weekend work might occur on rare occasions. It’s possible that the shift for this position may change in the future. This position requires minimal travel.
