Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Civil Technician to be based in London, Ontario, working approximately 20 hours per week. This is a temporary position expecting to last 3 months.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides basic support in the areas of project controls, scheduling, scheduling analysis, earned value management, and construction inspection activities in support of projects.
  • Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation.
  • General understanding of procedures, company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
  • Performs routine tasks while working under close supervision.
  • Entry-level position, previous experience may not be required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or other related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience using Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
  • Experience creating base plans from collected survey data.
  • Experience working with GIS data.
  • Experience with quantity take-offs.
  • A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology is preferred.
  • Experience in municipal, transportation, or civil engineering CAD/ drainage design.
  • Experience creating base plans from collected survey data.
  • Experience in drainage and stormwater management design for infrastructure projects (roadway, railway, municipal services, etc.)
  • Design experience with surface grading, sewer pipe networks, and detailed design.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD and Civil 3D (2016 to current versions).
  • Experience in site investigations to inspect drainage infrastructure (culverts, bridges, sewer systems).
  • Certified or eligible for certification as a CET and a member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Good time management skills.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $23.00/hour - $25.00/hour
