Position Summary

The Senior Front-End AI Engineer is a hands-on technical leader who shapes the architecture, quality, and user experience of our AI-powered web products. Deep expertise in TypeScript, modern front-end frameworks, and design systems is required, along with a track record of mentoring engineers and collaborating across disciplines. You will translate advanced machine-learning capabilities into intuitive, performant, and accessible interfaces that drive business value at scale.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the technical design and implementation of complex, responsive web applications using TypeScript and frameworks such as React or Next.js.
  • Architect reusable component libraries and design-system integrations that standardize AI interaction patterns (chat, search, data-viz, dashboards).
  • Partner with product, UX, and data-science teams to turn requirements, prototypes, and user research into high-fidelity, production-ready experiences.
  • Guide integration of real-time inference and generative-AI services via REST, GraphQL, and streaming APIs; ensure observability and graceful error handling.
  • Champion performance (Core Web Vitals), accessibility (WCAG 2 AA+), internationalization, and security (OWASP Top 10) across the front-end stack.
  • Establish automated testing strategies (unit, integration, visual regression, e2e) and CI/CD pipelines that enable rapid, reliable releases.
  • Conduct architecture and code reviews, providing actionable feedback and coaching to elevate team craftsmanship.
  • Evaluate emerging front-end and AI technologies; drive proof-of-concepts and adoption of best-in-class tooling.
  • Contribute to roadmap planning, story estimation, and continuous improvement of agile processes; act as scrum technical lead when needed.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of inclusion, learning, and psychological safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, human-computer interaction, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum six years' experience in front-end development experience with TypeScript and modern frameworks (React/Next.js, Vue, or Angular), including 2+ years in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Analytical skills, ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well independently or within a team.
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale, customer-facing applications that integrate AI/ML services (OpenAI, Azure AI, Vertex AI, or custom models).
  • Expert knowledge of UI/UX best practices, responsive and mobile-first design, design-system governance, and accessibility standards.
  • Experience with performance profiling, web security hardening, and DevOps practices (Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native deployments).
  • Proficiency in data-visualization libraries (D3, Recharts, or similar) and conversational UI frameworks.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills; able to convey complex technical concepts to executive and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven mentoring and leadership capability within cross-functional agile teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications required.

Requirements

  • Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; occasionally walks and/or stands.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
  • Audio/Visual: Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio; e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.
  • Environmental: Office environment – moderate noise, no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Travel: 5% or less

Targeted Salary Range: $120,000 - $176,000 annually

Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant’s geographical location.
