Manager, System Quality Informatics - Informatics - Full Time (Remote)

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Manager, System Quality Informatics oversees the hospital's efforts to align with the Promoting Interoperability (PI) Program and drive improvements in healthcare data exchange and accessibility. This role includes setting project goals, coordinating between departments, and managing timelines for each hospital’s interoperability initiatives. The manager is responsible for overseeing/managing interoperability initiatives and ensuring that all digital health systems can effectively communicate and exchange data.

Manages The Guthrie Clinic Multi-Hospital Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program, PI and provides leadership for the Hospital EHR PI program in order to meet current standards. Lead the effort to develop and report Electronic Quality Measures from our EHR for all required regulatory agencies. Partner with Physician leads and work closely with Providers, clinical Staff, and IT/Epic Teams to develop a process or recommend changes in order to successfully use our EHR for PI reporting purposes. This role is accountable for timely and accurate submission of clinical quality measures to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, The Joint Commission and other key regulatory agencies. This role helps manage the Informatics team.

Reports to the Sr. Director, System Quality Informatics and works in close cooperation with other departments and administration

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • In-depth knowledge of interoperability standards.
  • A high degree of initiative, attention to detail, rapid comprehension of complex subjects/systems and self-learning is required.

EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, computer science, information management or related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience may be considered.
  • Microsoft Office expertise required
  • At least 5 years of experience

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and implement project plans for interoperability enhancements.
  2. Monitor regulatory updates related to the Promoting Interoperability Program.
  3. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for interoperability initiatives.
  4. Work closely with IT teams to ensure EHR interoperability with external partners.
  5. Prepare reports and presentations on the status of interoperability programs.
  6. Ensure compliance with Promoting Interoperability (PI) standards and CMS guidelines.
  7. Collaborate with clinicians, IT, and third-party vendors to improve interoperability.
  8. Track and report on interoperability metrics and program performance.
  9. Provide training and resources to staff on interoperability best practices.
  10. Directs activities for proactively identifying and or validating opportunities for electronic capture of clinical data.
  11. Ensures that quality measurement (manual or electronic) activities are timely, accurate and that data reports are reliable and submitted to meet regulatory requirements.
  12. Ensure ongoing efforts are in place to deliver Quality Data from our EHR in a Meaningful and Useful way.
  13. Maintain Knowledge of the Federal Register for Promoting Interoperability Regulations and keep current with new Regulations and Changes
  14. Assist in the identification of appropriate data sources for clinical reporting
  15. Maintain Comprehensive Documentation for Data validation, Evidence to Support our Claims of Meeting Meaningful Use.
  16. Performs duties as required or assigned by the Sr. Director, System Quality Informatics for which the employee is qualified to perform.
