Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Specialist with a strong background in pump and equipment setting to support industrial and infrastructure projects in Northern BC or Alberta. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a solid understanding of API 686 standards, OEM documentation, and quality assurance practices in mechanical installations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control inspections related to pump and mechanical installations.
  • Ensure compliance with API 686 and OEM specifications.
  • Oversee and verify work completed by insulation contractors.
  • Conduct documentation reviews and maintain quality records.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment with QA/QC standards.
  • Support equipment preservation and readiness for commissioning.

Essential Skills

  • 4–5 years of experience as a quality control inspector.
  • Experience in pump setting and equipment setting.
  • Quality Control inspection related to pump and mechanical installations.
  • Familiarity with API 686 standards for pump setting and shaft alignment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply OEM manuals for proprietary equipment installation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Skilled in rough setting, anchoring, and alignment of pumps mechanical equipment.
  • Experience with specialized equipment installations, such as arsenic water treatment systems.
  • Ability to oversee installation contractors, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Conduct quality checks and complete quality installation records.
  • Strong team collaboration and ability to handle difficult conversations.
  • Level-headed and adaptable in high-pressure environments.
  • Reliable: consistently punctual and fit for work.
  • Proactive and transparent communicator.
  • Comfortable with basic computer tools, including spreadsheets, PDF software, and Bluebeam.

Work Environment

This is a fly-in fly-out role, ideally from Alberta, with a stay in a camp located within Yellowknife. The work schedule consists of 10-hour days on a 10/4 rotation. The team includes three other quality personnel, a couple of coordinators, and two construction specialists. Subcontractors have 3-6 people, with more contractors coming to perform the work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
