Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 5+ years experience with extensive knowledge working with Oracle database services (including creating clones from PROD to TEST), Ellucian software (Banner, ESM, etc.), and system management procedures in a higher education environment
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to troubleshoot complex Oracle databases, infrastructure, and performance issues
  • Ability to create Oracle database clones in Banner from PROD to TEST and interpret and create SQL statements
  • Ability to use Ellucian's ESM
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • A desire to continuously learn new things while contributing to the organization's success

Job Duties and Other Information

  • Create plans, test files, and scripts for database replication/cloning and testing
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, procedures, and policies,
  • including the various database interfaces that support connectivity to the Banner ERP System
  • Develop and implement data extraction procedures, ensuring consistency and integrity
  • Verify the structure, accuracy, or quality of data being extracted and loaded to external systems
  • Implement business rules via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies
  • Map data between the Banner system and other external applications
  • Collaborate with other ITS teams to ensure seamless data flow between systems
  • Perform system analysis, data analysis, or programming using a variety of computer languages
  • Write new programs or modify existing programs to meet customer requirements using current
  • programming languages and technologies
  • Provide or coordinate troubleshooting support as necessary with external vendors
  • Review designs, codes, test plans, or documentation to ensure quality
  • Test software systems or applications for software enhancements or new products
  • Work closely with application developers to design and optimize database interactions
  • Stay updated with the latest database technologies, trends, and security to recommend improvements
  • Perform Database clones from productions to test environments
