Position Summary

The material handler is responsible for ensuring product parts and supplies are readily available for our production lines and other support areas.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
  • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English
  • The ability to stand up for 8 - 10 hours a day required
  • Overtime opportunities possible
  • All employees for all positions must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.
  • The ability to pass a drug test and background check
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
  • Must be age 18 or older
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Minimum 2 years of related/relevant work experience, such as driving a fork lift or tugger.
  • Valid drivers’ license

PREFERRED/DESIRED:

  • Need to be able to work in a fast paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Proficient with the use of shop equipment including mills, lathes, grinders and welders
  • The ability to work with components that are in constant motion along an assembly line without adverse effects
  • The ability to work on a team of co-workers in close proximity to each other
  • The ability to make timely decisions and provide feedback to each other
  • Have a strong desire for personal and professional development
  • Fork lift certification/license
