A Snapshot of Your Day

We are looking for a candidate who will have project controlling and some contract management experience, particularly with project controls including management of project budgets and claims. Ideally you will have experience within the construction, engineering, energy management or similar industry.

You will be working in a team of friendly and like-minded people overseeing the financial status of all Siemens Energy Gas Service projects in the Australian and New Zealand region. Together with Project Managers (tech.) you will deliver those projects within the schedule and budget. This includes all activities from project set up (contract award) to practical completion (start of warranty phase).

Together with your Project manager you will be managing projects of different volume and complexity (CCM / POC revenue recognition). The project volume ranges from small service orders >250k to major service outages & upgrade projects (up to ~15mil) up to Long Term Service Agreements (+50mil) for Australia’s leading power generation companies.

This role will be based in one of Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Set up projects in SAP and ensure accurate financial data recording.
• Monitor project budgets to stay within allowances.
• Forecast costs using the POC method with Project Managers' input and address uncertainties promptly.
• Forecast project cashflows monthly and manage currency risks and tax issues.
• Facilitate monthly cost reviews and analyze key budget variances.
• Assist Project Manager with risk and opportunity register and take necessary actions.
• Prepare and raise payment claims as per contract requirements.
• Support Project Manager with purchase requisitions, orders, and other commercial project topics.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree - Business Administration/Accounting or other Project Accounting / Project Management related fields. If you hold a double degree in IT to drive our digital future, that would be ideal but is not a must.
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in financial controlling and administration of complex projects
• Good understanding of project management principals
• Ability to work under pressure and adhere to project timelines.
• Structured approach to problem solving.
• SAP experience or any other large EPR system
• Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel and Word
• Full working rights in Australia

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
