Leads and oversees coding projects, mentors team members, ensures code quality, and collaborates with stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees a team of coders to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Reviews and approves coding standards and guidelines for the team.
  • Collaborates with other departments to gather requirements for coding projects.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to junior coders.
  • Monitors coding quality and accuracy to maintain high standards.
  • Implements process improvements to enhance coding efficiency.

Education Requirement:

  • As required by listed licensure and/or certification requirement.
  • Associate Degree, preferred.

Licensure Requirement:

Certifications:

RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CCS, CCS-P, or COC, required.

Skills:

  • Good working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Must possess high degree of professional competency for coding, accuracy in all details, and must possess a self directed work ethic.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally under pressure.
  • Intermediary skills in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, required.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities and deadlines.
  • Analytical and organizational skills a must for analyzing clinical information and data.

Experience:

  • 7 year's professional or facility coding experience with documented education in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, required.
  • Pediatric coding and billing, preferred.
