Job Description

Honeywell is looking for a Ph.D. Physicist for their North Vancouver location. This is a research scientist position responsible for the detailed design of Honeywell sensor products. Assigned work includes detailed custom design and participation in research and development.

Honeywell has a broad portfolio of sensors designed to perform in a wide variety of process industry applications for flat sheet manufacturing and giga factory industries. Our sensors measure many process parameters such as moisture, weight, thickness, color, conductivity, level, and flow. The technologies we use in our sensor designs vary depending on the measurement we need to make but they include – ultrasonic, eddy current, optical imaging, microwave, terahertz, interferometry, spectroscopy, nuclear and x-ray.

Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to technical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve research, techniques, procedures, products and technologies. You will work together with electrical, mechanical and software engineers to design the next generation sensing equipment. In this role you will facilitate design, development, and testing to meet project objectives.

The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $130,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Ph.D. in Physics
  • 5+ years of in-depth research and development experience with at least 3 years in an industrial environment.

BASIC SKILLS

  • Solid understanding of sensing principles
  • Fluent in advanced data analysis and acquisition tools such as MATLAB or LabView.
  • Proficiency in a programming language such as Python or C/C++
  • Linux
  • Electronics design
  • Data analysis and interpretation
