Job Description

MileOne Autogroup is expanding our internal IT team.

The Hardware Support Technician will be working both independently and within a team to complete daily tasks in a fast paced, high volume environment. This candidate will be responsible for providing both on the phone and on-site software support, hardware installation and hardware maintenance for the user.

The position will be responsible for supporting our dealerships primarily in Baltimore, MD and Silver Spring, MD along with occasional on-site support to surrounding states. All travel will be compensated for.

Some nights and weekends will be required for this position.

Essential Duties:

• Install and configure computer & phone equipment, including site preparation
• Install and configure network and printer devices
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, upgrades and ongoing support for PC hardware
• Review and maintain current virus protection updates during onsite visits
• Perform diagnostics, repair and ongoing support for software including MAC, Windows 10 desktops, Unix, Linux, Terminal Servers, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and manufacturer web portals
• Assist in managing administrative tasks such as physical inventory of hardware and software license compliance
• Cell phone and other various Telecom support, training, installation
• Escalate to Tier 2 as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of Information Technology (IT) field service experience
• Thorough knowledge of hardware products and software capabilities; Apple products preferred
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Knowledge of Internet protocols, access methods, and equipment
• Must be self-motivated and self-directed
• Must be willing to answer calls after normal working hours
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
