Summary

This position provides leadership in the organization or functional area and is primarily engaged in management activities that establish the direction of a department, function, or project. The position requires the application of knowledge gained from experience and expertise to the job duties and responsibilities. The position will make decisions in areas that may impact the organization and its employees, clients, budgets, policies, procedures, work practices, or compliance programs.

Scope

The purpose of this position is to develop sales and generate profitable growth in specified geographic areas and/or line of business while leading others in meeting their specified goals. The position is responsible for generating new business as well as maintaining and growing existing business in the assigned geographic area.

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify potential markets in the geographic area considered to be a “good risk” for the company to do business.
  • Maintain and develop business relationships with existing and new clients in a specified area or line of business.
  • Responsible for developing, creating, and presenting client value presentations.
  • Coordinate information gathering on markets, industry, and client trends to develop a corporate strategy for business development (domestic and international)
  • Direct other Business Development managers in sales, training, and growth of their assigned area of responsibility
  • Maintain and promote good member relations by consistently applying Human Resource, Safety, and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Develop, monitor, negotiate, and secure contracts for agreed-upon services between the company and the client.
  • Typically manage personnel and provide an environment for the development and professional advancement of staff members, including on-the-job and formal training and development opportunities, and timely performance feedback
  • Leverage internal and external resources to administer policies and procedures consistently across all business lines, functions, and locations.
  • Analyze situations, identify, and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement an appropriate course of action.
  • Organize and prioritize a variety of complex projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
  • Adhere to and support AMECO's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
  • Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job.
  • May need to travel to attend to business-related matters.
  • Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Typical Minimum Qualifications - Related Education, Experience & Skills

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and fifteen (15) years* of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to nineteen (19) years* if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.

Working Conditions

  • Generally favorable indoor office workspace, and/or;
  • Various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to project worksites and vendor/client facilities which may have temporary office space, moving mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels.

Preferred Qualifications - Related Education, Experience & Skills

  • Fifteen (15) years’ experience in operations, marketing, or sales (construction equipment industry preferred)
  • Basic computer and software skills including the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, and electronic presentation programs.
  • Good analytical ability and mathematical aptitude
  • Good leadership and managing skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Understands account management.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of the company’s business, business goals, and ability to serve clients.
  • Understands commercial/contract terms and negotiation strategy for selling integrated packages.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to maintain a heavy travel schedule.
