CTG is seeking to fill a Project Controls Professional II opening for our client in Richland, WA.

Duration: 12 months

Duties:

This position supports Capital and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) projects and their teams by providing independent oversight as part of the Corporate Finance organization. It plays a critical role in project monitoring, risk identification, and accurate costing. Responsibilities include coordination, tracking, and execution of project estimates. Provide challenges, technical direction, and assistance to project managers using tools and processes for developing project scope, detailed project schedules, cost estimates, and performing detailed analysis and control activities. Monitor and report all project schedule, scope, and cost changes to project managers and plant management in a timely manner.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Assist with development of project scope and work with assigned project teams.
  • Prepare level 1-4 detailed project implementation schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Integrate project cost estimates and schedule to produce logic-tied, resource-loaded cost flow projections.
  • Analyze schedule deviations and identify activities with potential impact on cost/schedule.
  • Evaluate real-time cost data to determine project status and financial condition.
  • Provide recommendations for corrective actions to mitigate cost/schedule overruns.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop accurate Estimates to Completion (ETC).
  • Develop reports for project personnel and management regarding project financial health and changes in scope/funding requirements.
  • Track changes to project budgets, record potential impacts in software, and communicate with Corporate Finance.
  • Implement approved budget and schedule changes into the baseline schedule.
  • Review schedule data to ensure correct scope is reflected.
  • Enter schedule status updates monthly in P6.
  • Process journal entries for accruals and charge transfers.
  • Maintain configuration control of project data and perform consistency reviews.
  • Identify lessons learned and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Attend project meetings, safety meetings, and staff meetings as required.
  • Provide recommendations to improve Project Controls processes.
  • Champion core values focusing on customer service.

Skills:

  • Earned Value Management methodology
  • Project Controls experience and detailed variance analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6
  • Understanding of professional project management principles
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills; comfortable speaking in groups
  • Strong teamwork and ability to work independently
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to prioritize, establish goals, and maintain awareness of activity interrelationships
  • Strong keyboarding and data organization skills
  • Self-starter with excellent time management

Experience:

  • Minimum five years of project controls/project management experience in an industrial environment with a bachelor’s degree, OR
  • Seven years with an AA degree, OR
  • Nine years with a High School diploma or GED in lieu of a degree
  • Formal training on Primavera P6 or another project management system required
  • Experience supporting large, complex projects with budgets of $25M and up is desirable
  • Experience in process improvement and general knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Asset Suite, Workday Adaptive Planning, and Workday is a plus
  • Utility industry experience and understanding of nuclear plant operations (preferably BWR experience) desirable

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required OR equivalent experience as noted above
  • Earned Value Management certification and/or Project Management Institute certifications (PMP, PBA, SP, CAPM, or RMP) are highly desirable

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $65.00/hour to $89.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
