As a Water Resources Engineer-In-Training, you will join our London, Ontario office as part of our Eastern Engineering team. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of water resources engineering and restoration projects with responsibilities as follows:

  • Analyze, assess, and interpret data for hydrologic and hydraulic analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and technical reports, technical specifications for engineering designs and cost estimates
  • Coordinate with drafting and GIS staff to prepare report figures and/or design drawings
  • Complete topographic surveys and as-built surveys
  • Willing to travel and undertake field work across Ontario
  • Promote and comply with Montrose Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Complete daily and occasional inspections on construction projects

What We Are Looking For

  • B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Water Resources Engineering
  • A recent graduate from a recognized post-secondary institution within the last two years, or expected to graduate in the spring of 2022
  • Must be eligible for registration as an EIT (Engineer in Training) with Professional Engineers Ontario
  • SWMM, PC SWMM, River2D, MIKE FLOOD, MIKE URBAN, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), DAMBRK, Culvert Master, MIKE SHE, and HEC-HMS will be considered as asset
  • Previous experience and aptitude to work with various stormwater and drain modelling software such as noted above
  • One to three years of consulting experience (or relevant pre-graduation work or co-op experience) would be an asset
  • Basic understanding of open channel and pipe flow hydraulics, stormwater management system design, and river engineering
  • Drafting and design support using AutoCAD Civil 3D software to create base plans from field surveys
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Self-starter, a positive attitude, and enthusiasm to learn and grow
  • Possess a valid Class G driver’s license and a clean driving record.

This is a permanent position with an hourly rate range of $29.00 -$41.00, starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location.
