Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
The Assistant Professor of Practice is a non-tenure track faculty position responsible for conducting field observations, mentoring and coaching candidates, providing professional development and training, and engaging in outreach and program development. This role also includes teaching courses as needed and performing administrative coordination related to initial and advanced pathways certification.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction or related field. Preference given to applicants with expertise in teacher education and supervision.
Preferred requirements: Valid teacher certification, PhD or EdD in Curriculum & Instruction or related field.
Experience Required for the Position
At least 3-5 years successful teaching in K-12 setting. Experience working with various learners in a school environment and in differentiating instruction.
Other Requirements for the Position
This position will require a significant amount of travel for field observations.
