Marymoor Park is one of King County’s most popular public spaces, welcoming a diverse range of visitors year-round. As a Parking Attendant, you’ll play an important role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for park guests. This is a fast-paced, outdoor position ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, managing traffic flow, and helping ensure smooth operations during busy days and events.

About the Role:

Marymoor Park hosts a wide variety of events — from summer concerts and sports tournaments to community festivals — making this a dynamic and engaging role. In this temporary position, you’ll assist visitors with parking, direct traffic, and provide helpful park information. You’ll also support the parking enforcement program by helping to manage compliance with the park’s parking fee ordinance. It’s a great opportunity for someone who values working outdoors, interacting with the public, and contributing to a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

We have varied schedules in the evenings and weekends, giving you the option of choosing the events that works best for your schedule.

About the Team:

Being part of the Recreation, Partnership, and Property Management Section means you’ll likely collaborate with various teams to help make the park a welcoming space for all visitors. Your work in parking management, along with your customer service, ties into the broader goal of providing an excellent park experience for the community.

This position blends outdoors work with being part of a larger team dedicated to improving the park for everyone.

Job Duties

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Provide excellent, in-person customer service to park visitors
  • Direct traffic and vehicles to designated parking areas to maintain smooth, safe traffic flow.
  • Assist guests by providing general park and event information
  • Assist in other special events, monitoring, and parking fee management duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Qualifications You Bring:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills and ability to communicate in positive and professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the team
  • Demonstrated skill in providing and following oral and written instructions.
  • Proficient computer skills and have email access.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Standing for up to three hours at a time and walking on uneven surfaces

Workplace Exposures:

  • Working in parking lots with dust, dirt, vehicle exhaust, loud machinery (generator or light tower) engine noise.
  • Standing amidst moving vehicles.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Location: Marymoor Park, 6046 W. Lake Sammamish Pkwy NE in Redmond, WA
  • Work Schedule: The work schedule for this position is flexible; primarily evenings and weekends depending on the event. This position allows you the option of choosing the events that works best for your schedule. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.
  • Union Representation: This position is represented by SEIU 925 union.
