Child Support Services
Hourly Pay Range: $26.99 - $30.99

Job Summary: The Community Engagement Coordinator position’s primary purpose is to provide information and outreach to the community regarding child support services, programs, and resources. The role involves planning and implementing community engagement strategies, developing educational materials, coordinating outreach events, and building partnerships with community organizations to improve access to and understanding of child support services. Following Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)'s "No Wrong Door" philosophy, this position requires comprehensive knowledge of all DHHS service areas to provide holistic support to staff and Child Support Services (CSS) participants, ensuring integrated service delivery across departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and implement community outreach activities including presentations, workshops, and information sessions about child support services Organize and staff informational booths at community events.
- Guide participants through available DHHS resources and services based on comprehensive needs assessment. Provide warm handoffs to other DHHS divisions including Housing, Mental Health, Youth Services, and Disabilities Services, maintaining current knowledge of DHHS programs, eligibility requirements, and application processes.
- Collaborate with other staff across divisions to ensure seamless service delivery and keep track of all referrals and follow up on participant outcomes.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, social service agencies, and advocacy groups. Support engagement with CSS Satellite locations and coordinate service delivery
- Manage relationships with CSS providers including FIRE program, Allgood Family Forms Consultants, and WCS-Real Men, Real Talk initiative. Support recruitment and engagement efforts for all CSS provider programs.
- Identify and pursue collaborative opportunities to reach underserved populations and participate in community coalitions and partnership meetings.
- Monitor and evaluate outreach effectiveness. Track engagement metrics and prepare reports. Identify new opportunities for program improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, complete required documentation and reports and track program metrics and outcomes.
- Support departmental initiatives as needed and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
- Assist with special projects as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Current resident of the State of Wisconsin
- High School Diploma and 4 years of experience working with TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families programs or W-2 (Wisconsin Works) programs. Or 2 years of college courses/associates or higher degree and 2 years of experience working with TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families programs or W-2 (Wisconsin Works) programs.
- At least 3 months of prior experience working with Non-Custodial Parents (Primarily Fathers) is required
- Intermediate knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets.
- Occasional weekend work required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The ability to travel locally as needed. Knowledge of and skilled in the application and techniques of human services; oral and written communication skills; knowledge of community resources in the area of child support, health and social services and the ability to utilize them effectively; Able to maintain sensitive or confidential information; speak effectively before both internal and/or external groups.
