Job Title: Project Manager – Data Center Transformation

Client Type: Energy

Rate: up to $73/hour on W2

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead our Data Center Transformation initiatives. This role requires a technical background with a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, and project management methodologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing high-priority, high-visibility projects, including significant cloud migration efforts and infrastructure upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee hardware, software, networks, and servers. Manage infrastructure technology projects, including new technology implementations and upgrades.
  • Cloud Platform Expertise: Plan and execute cloud migration projects (on-premises to cloud and cloud-to-cloud). Utilize knowledge of Microsoft Azure and other cloud services (computing, storage, databases, networking). Implement cloud monitoring and management tools for optimal performance. Understand cloud pricing models and cost management strategies (e.g., Azure Cost Management, Flexera).
  • Cybersecurity: Apply cybersecurity principles and best practices. Manage cloud security, identity and access management, and data protection.
  • Data Management: Utilize cloud data analytics tools, specifically in the cloud. Ensure compliance with data privacy and regulatory requirements.
  • DevOps Practices: Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Azure Resource Manager. Transition projects to Operations effectively.
  • System Integration: Integrate systems and applications using APIs and middleware solutions.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation throughout the system development life cycle (SDLC). Document project requirements and configurations.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Facilitate technical working sessions to diagnose and resolve issues. Collaborate with technical teams to address and fix problems.

Non-Technical Skills:

  • Communication: Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Translate technical information into business terms.
  • Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations. Inspire and motivate the team towards project goals.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve technical and operational issues. Apply critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Project Management: Utilize Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies for project planning and execution. Create and maintain project plans, budgets, and schedules. Report, manage, and resolve issues.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Create contingency plans for unforeseen challenges.
  • Adaptability: Be flexible and responsive to changing project requirements and environments. Embrace new technologies and methodologies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders. Understand and address their needs and expectations.
  • Time Management: Prioritize tasks efficiently and manage time to meet project deadlines. Balance multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate project scope, timelines, and resources effectively. Resolve conflicts and reach mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.

Required Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical background in infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of Azure and cloud-based technologies.
  • Experience with MS Project, ServiceNow, and Flexera.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and risk management.
