Job Description

Job Summary: This position will be in within the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center (NCVRTC) division. The faculty member will be engaged in research, education, and clinical activities related to trauma, psychophysiological research, and precision medicine work within the NCVRTC and the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

Research: Considerable professional effort will be devoted to research. This involves:

1) Managing her own research portfolio including an existing Promising Early Stage Scholar by Society of Psychophysiology Research award and a NIMH R25-funded CHIPS program project;

2) Developing research collaborations with other NCVRTC and Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences faculty members including Dr. Danielson and Ms. Megan Wallace (and others);

3) Serving as a Co-Investigator on several of Dr. Danielson’s currently existing external grants on Dr. Danielson’s to assist with program evaluation and data analyses;

4) Submit grant applications for extramural funding including for K awards. Note: as is the case with all faculty members, this faculty member would not be expected to cover 100% of her compensation via her own grants. Most faculty members collaborate with other faculty members on a variety of projects, and this faculty’s skills and talents would make her a valued collaborator on many types of grants.

Clinical Service: As a faculty member within the NCVC, this faculty member will be expected to provide clinical supervision, as assigned, to psychology interns and post-doctoral fellows. This will require licensure in South Carolina. There is no clinical effort associated with this faculty position, so they are not expected to see patients as part of their duties, but she will be taking on a significant supervision role of trainees. Opportunities to supplement salary in the cash-based faculty practice clinic within the Department of Psychiatry (Comprehensive Psychiatric Care Specialists) are available, but they are fully voluntary.

Education: This faculty member will be expected to participate in the educational activities of the NCVRTC, including its seminar series for interns and post-docs, and to serve as a research preceptor for interns and post-docs, as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements: PhD degree or equivalent.
