Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Performance Leader at our Plywood Facility in Madison, Georgia. The Performance Leader will play a key role in advancing the capabilities of both salaried and hourly employees to deliver long-term value creation. This leader will be responsible for identifying and addressing performance and knowledge gaps, mentoring employees to achieve operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across manufacturing facilities. A successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive change and collaboration while aligning with our Principle Based Management® (PBM®) culture.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, coach, and mentor employees to continuously improve their knowledge, skills, and performance in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Encourage and incentivize knowledge sharing and transfer between team members.
  • Provide resources to help employees develop their own careers and realize their full potential while becoming increasingly self-actualized.
  • Manage individual performance and hold employees accountable for their results through vision setting, one-on-one conversations, and performance feedback.
  • Identify and address performance and knowledge gaps through constructive challenges and actionable strategies.
  • Work closely with department managers, supervisors, and other key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change.
  • Promote operational discipline and safe working practices to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Implement strategies to build technical and operational capabilities aligned with Georgia-Pacific’s long-term vision.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Three (3) or more years of experience leading and developing people, including completing performance reviews, setting expectations, and holding individuals accountable.
  • Three (3) or more years of manufacturing or industrial experience, or equivalent military leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule to support off-shift or weekend needs.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations Management.
  • Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing plant with responsibility for direct reports.
  • Experience building operational learning and development programs that support skill building, operational efficiency, and safe working practices.
  • Familiarity with industrial and/or manufacturing environments, particularly within plywood or building products operations.
