Your role
- Build up and manage the synthesis science team of LCSES (approx. 4 people) and represent your team in LCSES management board
- In collaboration with other researchers from the LCSES and the university initiate and implement selected scientific synthesis projects
- Be responsible for organizing international calls for workshop, related review processes and the resulting working group programs
- Actively ties promote synthesis science activities in the University and Luxembourgs research institutes
- Organized public outreach events alongside of synthesis working groups
- Oversee the budget of LCSES Synthesis Science Teram and be responsible for budget planning of synthesis science team
- Collect teaching material on team science, adapt to LCSES requirements
- Ensure close collaboration with the LCSES Data Science and Science-Policy Team as well as the Universities Institute of Advance Studies (IAS)
Your profile
- PhD in an environment-related field followed by experiences as PostDoc in related interdisciplinary research contexts, optimally with research that aimed to work on environmental evidence synthesis (large scale heterogenous data synthesis, meta-analytic studies, conceptual synthesis)
- Experiences and interests in shaping modern team science research and interest in super-visioning & coordinating interdisciplinary team science
- Motivation to shape the research agenda of the Synthesis Science Team at LCSES
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experiences with project management and related administrative tasks
- Creativity, strategic thinking, and strong organizational abilities
- Motivation to build a team, manage, and actively collaborate in interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines through organized, methodological, pragmatic, and effective work practices
- Fluency in English is required. French or German is considered an asset
