SUMMARY

The Sample Coordinator will be scheduling core make samples, molding, and processing. Assisting in various areas of new work launches, and assisting in picture taking and filling of documents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Service the Pattern Shop with tooling and materials to ensure proper process flow
• Computer program data entry and retrieval
• Fork truck/driving experience preferred
• Perform miscellaneous functions to assist Pattern Makers and Repair people in their duties
• Deal with pattern vendors on delivery and transfer of tooling
• Tag and complete the necessary documentation of the Pattern Shop regarding tooling and repair information
• Author and route sample tickets as required
• Scan and archive of sample results (documents)
• Review processes (ie, molding, core making, cleaning, etc.) of samples
• Assist the Program Manager and Foundry Engineer with various documentation requirements
• Review tooling documentation through “Plan to Sample Meetings.”
• Audit process cards to ensure they are up to date with current processes
• Document saw cuts and x-ray data to part number-specific folders
• Verify and document pour weight audits to have current yield data
• Labeling of shipments of PPAP or samples to customers after in-depth review of processed product
• Utilize delay time constructively by doing housekeeping or other area improvement activities.
• Participate in area continuous improvement efforts, including Employee Involvement activities.
• Personal attendance record should remain in compliance with company guidelines.
• This list is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties as necessary.
• Able to work overtime as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Approach work assignments in a positive manner and function as a team member.
• High school diploma or equivalent with computer skills, with Microsoft programs preferred.
• Experience running a Production Band Saw or ability to learn is a plus.
• Attention to detail, good housekeeping, and organizational skills.
• Self-starter, able to take directions and meet deadlines.
• Work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
• Light physical exertion. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to sit, stand for periods of time during shift.
• Must be willing and able to wear all required PPE. (Safety goggles, hearing protections, steel-toe non-slip safety shoes, and gloves as needed when on the shop floor.)
