Job Summary

Process inbound and outbound shipments of finished castings, raw materials, supplies, parts, tooling, and customer owned containers.

What You'll Do:

• Ship items leaving the plant according to shipping instruction card and instructions on the load book. Complete loading book properly.
• Verify that bar code labels are attached, and that data is accurate.
• Load trucks to proper weight or skid limit, ensuring that loads scale legally.
• Receive incoming materials and check shipping containers or packaging for damage.
• Inspect class A & B materials utilizing material specification sheets and verify contents against packing slips.
• Visually inspect castings and shipping containers prior to loading.
• Return noncompliant castings to the appropriate Cleaning Room for corrective action.
• Complete bills of lading and arrange for export documents for shipped materials as necessary.
• Perform daily dock audits as specified per dock audit procedure.
• Verify casting counts through physical inventories. Adjust inventory systems as necessary.
• Place castings in the warehouse in the proper location until they are ready for shipment.
• Update shipping tickets, containers, and inventory systems to maintain proper inventory counts.
• Spot semi-trailers as necessary and complete daily tasks such as fueling, winterizing, and coordinating maintenance checks.
• Operate fork truck in accordance with established safety procedures. Check gauges as appropriate and report problems to the supervisor.
• Utilize delay time constructively by doing housekeeping or other area improvement activities.
• Participate in area continuous improvement efforts including Employee Involvement activities.
• Personal attendance record should remain in compliance with company guidelines.
• This list is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties as necessary.
• Able to work overtime as assigned.

What We Need From You:

• Approach work assignments in a positive manner and function as a team member.
• High school diploma or equivalent with over three months experience preferred.
• Trailer spotting experience is required.
• Requires decimals and fractions, drawings and formulas, adjustable measuring instruments.
• Some judgment to comply with instructions, follow methods, make minor decisions with continuous mental or visual attention.
• Moderate physical exertion. Able to lift up to 50 pounds with some twisting and bending.
• Must be willing and able to wear all the required PPE. (Safety goggles, hearing protection, steel-toe non-slip safety shoes, and gloves as needed.)
