THE OPPORTUNITY FOR A REMOTE/HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE (4 days in and potential of 1 remote work day) IS POSSIBLE AFTER SIX MONTHS.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Coordinate events and marketing materials for all units within University College for Academic Success (UCAS). Provide logistical support for UCAS fairs and events, both in-person and virtual including managing locations/technical needs/venues and creative marketing. Create a brand reputation and marketing strategy for UCAS in compliance with University standards. Serve as primary point person for special events and marketing. Utilize relevant technology platforms to coordinate and manage digital, social media, and event activities. Develop and manage programming opportunities to support the identity-centered mission and goals of UCAS through events, panels, workshops, seminars and symposiums. Collaborate with key stakeholders on and off campus to create, market, and implement special programs supporting students and external partners in meeting equity goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In the area of Events and Marketing: Provide leadership and professional experience in the areas of marketing, digital and social media, and programming and events. Organize and provide logistical management for all fairs and networking events, both in-person and virtual. Work collaboratively with parking services, catering, and other campus departments to ensure ease in external partner visits to campus.
Function as creative director. Oversee and direct the visual concept, aesthetics and continuity of UCAS communications, press releases, and other marketing print and digital materials.
Build a strategy to effectively increase visibility by utilizing social media and marketing for UCAS units, unifying our messaging.
Create and maintain content on the events side of the UCAS units’ website and on University event calendars for students and employers.
Market opportunities to the campus community and external partners via social media, digital advertising, and print sources.
Train and supervise student employees to support event management, social media campaigns, and marketing. Assign tasks and ensure efficient operations.
In the area of External Relations: Communicate with external partners to support their recruiting efforts at URI in virtual and in-person events by providing exposure and branding opportunities.
Communicate with campus partners regarding events and services of UCAS.
In the area of Inclusion and Belonging: Develop and manage programming opportunities to support the identity-centered mission and goals of UCAS including events, panels, workshops, seminars, and symposiums.
Participate in campus-wide initiatives and collaborations with key campus stakeholders, including committees and working groups, to help foster student success and sense of belonging.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the duties of the Lead Information Technologist in their absence.
Perform additional duties as required.
Flexible schedule required.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Personal computers and printers; Windows, database management, spreadsheet and word processing software. WordPress. Canva. Adobe Creative Suite. Social media.
Required Qualifications
REQUIRED:
1. Master’s degree with two years of professional events and/or logistics experience, OR, Bachelor’s degree with five years of professional events and/or logistics experience.
2. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
3. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
4. Demonstrated experience utilizing graphic design platforms such as WordPress, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite.
5. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
6. Demonstrated experience and skill using social media platforms for marketing and recruiting purposes.
7. Demonstrated attention to detail.
8. Demonstrated experience and/or dedication to integrating issues of inclusion, equity, and social justice into work.
9. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED:
1. Demonstrated experience working in higher education.
2. Demonstrated organizational skills.
3. Demonstrated experience performing employer outreach or working in a recruiting or staffing environment.
4. Demonstrated experience conducting and presenting research in workforce industry related trends.
5. Demonstrated experience utilizing career database software technology.
