Postdoctoral Associate- Artificial Intelligence Innovation

Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)

Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics or a related field in hand by the start of the appointment.

The new AI Innovation Institute at Stony Brook University invites applicants for Postdoctoral Scholars to support research groups associated with Institute faculty, in areas such as:

  • Machine Learning and Computer Vision
  • Natural Language Processing and Data Science
  • Biomedical Informatics and Computational Neuroscience
  • Mathematical/Theoretical Foundations of Artificial Intelligence

Applications should hold a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related disciplines and must demonstrate research accomplishments and potential. We have a broad notion of "related discipline" and will consider outstanding candidates looking to transition into artificial intelligence or machine learning from other fields.

Candidates seeking to bridge multiple disciplines or bring AI into new scientific/applied domains are particularly encouraged to apply.

We will process applications on an ongoing basis until all positions are filed. The start date is negotiable but can be as early as Fall 2025. Beyond research, scholars will have modest service duties to expand the missions of the AI Innovation Institute.

Duties:

  • Conduct research in the field of the Postdoctoral Associate's choice in Artificial Intelligence and related disciplines.
  • May collaborate with members of the AI Innovation Institute working in the same field as well as other educational institutes.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned
