Job Summary
Are you detail-oriented with a strong understanding of insurance regulatory requirements? We’re looking for a State Filings Coordinator to join our team and support the development, submission, and approval of insurance product filings. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to collaborate across departments and with state regulators to ensure timely and compliant product launches.
What will you do
Regulatory Filings & Approvals
- Negotiate with internal teams, insurance departments, and rating bureaus to secure filing approvals.
- Prepare clear and accurate Explanatory Memorandums to support filings.
- Submit and manage rate, rule, and form filings, ensuring compliance with state-specific requirements.
- Defend and substantiate filings by responding to regulatory inquiries via written and verbal communication.
Documentation & Review
- Coordinate the creation and review of manual pages and instructions for agents and regional offices.
- Review state-mandated forms and supporting documentation prepared by technicians.
- Draft cover letters, checklists, and side-by-side comparisons for submission packages.
- Create or download documents and apply formatting standards appropriate for intended use(s), utilizing Word, Excel, Acrobat and other applications?
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product Development to ensure filings align with internal product strategies and regulatory standards.
- Liaise with IT, regional offices, and other stakeholders during the filing and approval process.
Database & Process Management
- Maintain internal databases including circular activity logs, forms libraries, and filing history.
- Ensure templates and documentation are up-to-date and accessible for policy processing.
Additional Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with State Insurance Departments and rating bureaus.
- Ensure accurate development and publication of rates and rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with corporate policies and procedures.
What will you need
- Education: Associate’s degree (2-year college degree preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Prior experience in insurance regulatory filings or compliance preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency with database systems and document management tools
Salary: $ 60,405.80-$70,000.00
The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employee’s work experience, their geographic location, education, certification(s), scope and responsibilities in the role, and additional qualifications.
