Job Purpose

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of contracts and projects, ensuring they are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

This role involves strategic planning, cost management, client and stakeholder engagement, and team leadership to drive operational excellence. The Operations Manager champions a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and compliance while fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

They are accountable for developing and implementing strategies aligned with the organization’s goals, promoting a high-performance culture, and ensuring adherence to relevant policies and statutory requirements. This position plays a critical role in driving project outcomes, managing risks, and building organizational resilience.

About the role

Manage a geographically diverse team fostering a culture of ownership and driving continuous improvement across projects.

Ensure accurate billing and implement cost-saving initiatives, acting as a key financial driver for y our portfolio.

Proactively map out all suitable/eligible growth opportunities within allocated region.

Understand client drivers and formulate win themes

Develop a “bench” of resources to deliver the opportunities

Lead, develop and mentor a high-performance delivery team

Liaise with the clients on all aspects of the contracts.

Responsible for the overall management of the contract entailing planning, people management, safety, quality, cost control, administration and estimating.

Develop site/project strategy with internal stakeholders, ensuring business initiatives are designed in alignment with overall business plan

About you

Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or similar is preferred

Solid experience working with Utilities projects e.g. Powerlines

Experienced working with Tenders

An understanding of financial data. Interpreting and making decisions based on financial information

Experience in practical applications of modern team working concepts and open operating environments.

Understanding of risk allocation, commercial and contractual obligations.

Are customer focused, team oriented, accountable and results driven.
