Your Opportunity with Michels Canada

Michels Canada is seeking an experienced Fleet Coordinator to monitor and ensure regulatory compliance for the safe and reliable vehicle operation across all Michels Canada Projects. This includes maintaining accurate records, monitoring certifications and inspections, supporting audits, and ensuring all fleet activities are aligned with legal and safety requirements. This position will be based in Nisku, Alberta, Canada and is a permanent full-time opportunity.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
  • Ensure compliance with Transport Canada, CVOR (Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration), and provincial transportation regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date vehicle maintenance records, driver qualification files, and compliance logs.
  • Monitor and track preventative maintenance, inspections, and licensing renewals.
  • Monitor and report Hours of Service (HOS), logbook audits, and telematics data.
  • IVMS ordering, setup and installation.
  • Support internal and external audits, including documentation and corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to drivers and staff regarding compliance policies.
  • Investigate non-compliance issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Coordinate with insurance and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Stay informed on changing laws and regulations affecting fleet operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Post-secondary education in Transportation, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a fleet compliance, transportation, or safety related role.
  • Knowledge of Canadian transportation regulations including NSC, CVSA, and provincial requirements.
  • Experience working with Fleet management software (EI. Isaac Instruments and Geotab) and Enterprise resource planning (ERP) programs (EI. Fleet Focus and Viewpoint)
  • Strong administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office programs.
