SUMMARY
The Floral Manager manages department operations including but not limited to maximizing gross margins, promoting sales, controlling inventory and expenses. The Floral Manager’s responsibilities cover the overall operation and success of the floral department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise Daily Operations: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the floral department, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and schedule floral team members to deliver excellent service and maintain department standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, manage ordering, and minimize waste to ensure freshness and availability of products.
- Merchandising: Create and maintain visually appealing displays that attract customers and promote seasonal themes or special occasions.
- Customer Engagement: Provide expert advice and exceptional service to customers, assisting with custom orders, special arrangements, and events.
- Sales Optimization: Develop and execute strategies to meet or exceed sales targets, including promoting new products or services.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all floral products meet company standards for quality and freshness.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaboration: Work with store management and other departments to align floral offerings with store promotions and events.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supervises a varied number of Associates in the Front End.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Associates;
- Planning, assigning, and directing work;
- Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Associates;
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- One to three months related experience and/or training;
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages and sales per associate hour)
