Coding Rep II

Are you a skilled and certified coding professional looking for an exciting remote opportunity? We are seeking a Coding Rep II to join our dynamic team. While this is a remote position, candidates must reside in the Cincinnati, Ohio metro area to be considered.

Job Responsibilities

Coding

  • Review and abstract clinical data from medical records into Epic and/or Fastrack.
  • Assign ICD-10-CM and/or CPT codes accurately and ethically using 3M encoding software and coding manuals.
  • Follow up on documentation holds to ensure timely billing.
  • Meet or exceed productivity standards.
  • Submit coding activity logs promptly.
  • Manage workload to meet deadlines and organizational goals.

Claims and Billing

  • Prepare and forward patient claims to appropriate third-party payers.
  • Analyze and review claims to ensure payer-specific billing requirements are met.
  • Follow up on billing, determine and apply appropriate adjustments, answer inquiries, and update accounts as necessary.

Professional Development

  • Stay current with CMS, State of Ohio, and official coding guidelines, rules, and regulations.
  • Identify and pursue learning opportunities.
  • Integrate new knowledge into daily practice.
  • Complete continuing education to maintain credentials.

Performance Improvement

  • Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement in coding.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of coding experience.
  • Certification required: CPC, CCS-P, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, or CPC-A.
  • Full proficiency through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
  • Ability to solve non-routine problems by applying precedents and existing processes to new situations.
  • Identify key issues and patterns from partial or conflicting data.
  • Work under limited supervision for routine situations.
  • May act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.
