The Opportunity:
We’re currently looking for an IT Software Engineering Manager to join our growing IT team. Reporting to the IT Director, this leadership role is responsible for driving the technical direction, architecture, and delivery of scalable eCommerce and enterprise application solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in software development, a collaborative leadership style, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement. This role will mentor and manage development team members, champion Agile engineering practices, and serve as a key liaison across IT and business units to deliver impactful, customer-centric technology solutions.
What You’ll Do:
Technical Leadership & Agile Delivery
- Lead the planning and execution of sprints, capacity planning, backlog grooming, and release management.
- Oversee and guide the adoption of Agile engineering practices including DevSecOps, CI/CD, and shift-left QA.
- Ensure the consistent application of code quality standards and test automation.
- Provide hands-on guidance and technical expertise in the PHP/Symfony stacks (OroCommerce).
- Manage development standards for web and ERP systems integration.
Team & People Management
- Manage, mentor, and support the professional growth of the development employees.
- Conduct performance reviews and create training and development plans.
- Foster a collaborative, customer-centric culture of ownership and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with project managers on resourcing, work estimates, and priority planning.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between development and other internal/external stakeholders.
- Translate business goals and user requirements into actionable technical solutions.
- Present sprint/release metrics and strategic updates to IT leadership.
Systems & Application Oversight
- Ensure eCommerce platform functionality (e.g., shopping cart, payment, fulfillment).
- Drive integrations with ERP systems and enterprise platforms using data integration tools such as Boomi.
- Maintain documentation and technical roadmaps for all applications.
- Serve as escalation for critical software incidents or outages.
What You Bring:
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field required.
- Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Minimum 5+ years leading cross-functional technical teams.
- Proven experience with eCommerce platforms (OroCommerce, Magento, or similar).
- Proven experience with ERP platforms (IFS, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Experience managing web and ERP system development, ideally in a regulated industry (e.g., FDA, GMP).
- Experience supporting and integrating with enterprise systems using data integration tools such as Boomi, MuleSoft, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, PCI, FDA, GMP, and validated systems is a plus.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of the supplement, pharmaceutical, or food industry is a plus.
- Skilled in creating business cases, budgets, and strategic proposals.
- Strong experience with PHP/Symfony.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, test automation (Selenium, Cypress, PHPUnit), and API tools (Postman, Swagger).
- Knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, and iPaaS platforms.
- Familiarity with containerization and infrastructure-as-code tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
