About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Advisor, Governance and Projects to provide executive, governance, and project support to the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (VP & COO). This role is critical to ensuring the effective operation of the Operations Portfolio, managing a broad range of high-level initiatives, committees, and cross-functional projects.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality reports, briefings, and presentations by synthesising complex information into actionable insights. Working both independently and collaboratively, you’ll help drive key strategic initiatives, oversee governance reporting, and provide expert coordination for committee activities and events.

About You

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively and discreetly with senior executives, stakeholders, and external parties on sensitive matters.
  • Agile project management expertise, with the ability to lead initiatives across functions and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience navigating large, complex organisations with diplomacy, discretion and tact.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information and provide strategic insights and recommendations.
  • A strategic mindset, capable of managing ambiguity and balancing both strategic and operational demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality presentations and documentation to Board and Executive standard, supported by advanced Office 365 and digital skills.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively, solve problems independently and stay calm under pressure.
  • A team-oriented approach, with the flexibility to provide support across the executive team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

The Operations Portfolio is responsible for providing enabling services across RMIT Group, working with all Colleges and Portfolios to assist them in achieving annual and strategic objectives, while also ensuring day to day operations are efficient and effective.
